Car Seat Blanket for Charity - Free Crochet Pattern

Finished Size:  Approx 20" x 24"

You will need:
2 skeins Worsted Weight Yarn (just about a full skein of each)
Size K (6.5mm) Crochet Hook
Scissors
Tapestry Needle

Gauge:  Approx 11 sts = 4"

Abbreviations Used:
Ch: Chain
Dc: Double Crochet
Sk: Skip
Sts: Stitches
Sc: Single Crochet

Lets Begin!
Chain 58 loosely  **NOTE:  Yarn is held doubled**

Row 1: DC in 4th Ch from hook and each Ch across (56 Dc)  Ch 3, Turn
Row 2-?: Dc in each Dc across. Ch 3, Turn.  Repeat this row for 8 (or 16) inches (56 Dc)

Next Row:  22 Dc, Ch 10, Sk 10 DC, 23 DC Ch 3, Turn (Total 56 sts)
Next Row:  22 Dc, 10 Dc in Ch Sts, 23 Dc Ch 3, Turn (56)

Repeat Row 2-? until Approx 24" long.  Do not cut yarn.

Border:
Ch 1, 1 Sc in each Dc, 2 Sc in each row on the side.  There will be 3 Sc in each corner.

The flower is optional.

  4. Hi rscowtown. Sorry to confuse you.
    The blanket it a total of 24" long. You can make the opening at either end and that is why I say you repeat row 2 for 8 or 16 inches.

    I hope this helps.
